Cheapest Package Forwarding from USA to New Zealand (2026 Rates, GST Exemption & Consolidation)

Shopping from US retailers like Amazon, eBay, RockAuto, Sweetwater, and specialized apparel stores from New Zealand often presents steep international shipping rates. Kiwi consumers and businesses frequently encounter merchants that refuse to ship internationally or charge excessive courier rates for individual items.

With AQX Logistics, New Zealand shoppers access a dedicated export locker in Inglewood, California (adjacent to LAX Airport), providing an affordable, consolidated gateway for transatlantic and trans-Pacific cargo.

1. Key Cost Factors for US to NZ Forwarding in 2026

When shipping packages from the US to New Zealand (Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and regional NZ), three factors determine your landed cost:

1. Dimensional vs Scale Weight: Traditional couriers calculate billable weight based on carton dimensions. AQX repacks and consolidates multiple orders, eliminating void fill and reducing billable dimensional weight by up to 70%.
2. New Zealand Customs & Border Levies: Individual shipments valued over NZ$1,000 incur a formal import entry transaction fee (IETF) and biosecurity system entry levy (BSEL). Consolidating multiple smaller merchant orders into a single coordinated shipment streamlines processing.
3. 0% California Sales Tax: Purchases shipped to AQX Logistics benefit from an export tax-exempt address, immediately saving 9.5% to 10.25% in US state sales taxes at retailer checkout.
