Shipping Downhole Rotary Steerable Systems (RSS) Bias Units from USA to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait: 2026 Directional Drilling Guide

Complex directional and horizontal drilling across Saudi Aramco unconventional gas reservoirs (Jafurah Basin, South Ghawar) and Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) deep Jurassic carbonate formations requires high-reliability Rotary Steerable Systems (RSS). Sourced from specialized directional drilling manufacturers in Houston, TX and Cheltenham, UK, RSS steering bias units (push-the-bit hydraulic pads and point-the-bit internal flex shafts) operate in severe downhole environments exceeding 175°C and severe drilling shock vibration.

When high-tier drilling contractors (SLB, Baker Hughes, Halliburton, NESR) require critical RSS bias sub-assemblies mobilized from US technology centers to rig locations in Dhahran, Haradh, and Wafra, logistics execution must maintain stringent shock tolerances and customs compliance.
